The Cityliner stage bus service operator, owned by Konsortium Transnasional Bhd in Kelantan, will resume operations in stages from today, Land Public Transport Commission (Spad) chairperson Syed Hamid Albar said.

This follows a discussion between Cityliner and Spad, he said in a statement.

Cityliner stopped operating in 31 of 37 routes in Kelantan on Jan 15, affecting over 30,000 commuters a day, citing financial problem.

Syed Hamid said the federal government had approved a fund to help the company in the short term following a report and proposal submitted by Spad.

“The government is aware of the impact of the bus service to commuters. As a responsible agency, Spad is committed to finding a comprehensive solution to the problem,” he said.
