The High Court today set Feb 23 for case management of a suit filed by national sewerage company Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) against the Selangor Foundation for RM851,792 over payment for services.

Justice Zabariah Mohd Yusof fixed the date in chambers in the presence of lawyers Sharen Rosli, for IWK, and Nasrullah Anuar, for Selangor Foundation.

In the suit, filed on Nov 24 last year, IWK claimed that Selangor Foundation owed the company the amount as of May 31, 2011, for sewerage services, as stated in the account statement dated July 16, 2011.

Besides the RM851,792.80 payment for sewerage services, IWK is also seeking an interest of four percent, costs and other relief deemed fit by the court.

Meanwhile, Selangor Foundation, in the statement of defence filed on Dec 23 last year, denied that it had received the sewerage services claimed by IWK.

The foundation also said that it had no knowledge of the account statement dated July 16, 2011, nor had it received any bill on a monthly or annual basis to show the claimed arrears in sewerage services payment.

It said the amount of claim submitted by IWK was wrong, extreme and never agreed to by the foundation.

Therefore, the foundation wants the court to strike out the suit filed by IWK.
