MIC said it will distribute 50,000 drink and snack packets to devotees in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration outside its headquarters from early morning of Feb 6.

It had been erroneously reported that the distribution would take place on Feb 7, an MIC official told Bernama.

Yesterday, MIC secretary-general S Murugesan said over 100,000 Hindu devotees were expected in the procession from the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Jalan Tun HS Lee to Batu Caves, Selangor.
