The PAS government in Kelantan plans to turn `Valentine's Day' which is celebrated each Feb 14 to ‘Couple's Day’ annually.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said this would be more appropriate as it would be in line with Islamic teachings and would also strengthen the family institution.

"In future, we have agreed to change Valentine's Day to ‘Couple's Day’ which will be an annual affair," he told reporters Kota Baharu today.

On another matter, Nik Aziz, who is also PAS spiritual leader, said PAS was willing to work with Zaid Ibrahim if the latter dissolves his party, Parti Keadilan Insan Tanah Air (Kita).

"If PAS can work together with the Chinese and Indians, there is no reason why we cannot work with Zaid," he said, adding that a final decision on this would be made by PAS' top leadership.

Zaid in his latest blog posting had stated that he intended to dissolve Kita despite there being objections from some quarters in the party.
