Perlis Menteri Besar Md Isa Sabu has urged civil servants to strengthen the 1Malaysia concept and safeguard the unity and peace Malaysians have enjoyed since independence.

NONE He said the 1Malaysia philosophy has the noble aim of uniting the more than 200 ethnic groups in the country.

"We are now comfortable with the long-standing harmony in society which should be safeguarded," he said at the monthly gathering of civil servants at Kompleks Warisan in Kangar today.

He said it was hoped that society would get rid of bad attitudes and thoughts which can destroy unity, peace and harmony.

Md Isa said the government has provided subsidies for petrol and sugar to shield the people from price increases.
