Firefly launched its ‘Just Pay This To Fly’ campaign featuring RM19 seats, marking it as one of its ‘Big Sales’ this year.

From today to Feb 19, all-in, one-way fares from as low as RM19 to its domestic destinations go on sale with an extensive travel period from March 19 to Oct 27, 2012.

“This promotion campaign is intended for those planning a quick get-away from a hectic routine and those planning their school holidays in June and August.

“We believe this will be a perfect opportunity for both local and foreign tourists to explore the wonderful attractions that Malaysia has to offer, especially the varied cultures, fascinating heritage, serene islands and variety of food,” its chief operating officer, short haul operations, Malaysia Airlines/Firefly, Ignatius Ong, said in a statement today.

Fares priced at RM19 all-in, one-way are essentially zero fares with minimal admin fee of RM10 and airport tax of RM9.

The RM19 promotion includes popular holiday destinations such as Penang, Langkawi, Kuala Terengganu, Johor Baru, Kota Baru, Kuantan and Alor Setar.

According to Firefly, the sale also includes local Firefly destinations from Penang International Airport.

The RM19 all-in, one-way promotional fare can only be booked online, it added.

The community airline said response to the sale, which kicked off today, has been encouraging, whereby more than 60 percent of this morning’s bookings were in favour of this promotion.
