MIC will be organising a national level Ponggal celebration in Kapar, Selangor on Feb 26, said the party’s secretary-general S Murugessan in Kuala Lumpur today.  

He said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is scheduled to attend the 6pm festival, to be held at the Tenaga Nasional Bhd quarters.   

He described the event as an opportunity to strengthen unity among the people and allow MIC leaders a chance to get closer to them.  

“MIC is prepared to face the general election and work hard to help the government regain the states which fell to the opposition,” he said.         

He also said that information on the party’s online registration system would be announced in the near future.
