Veteran singer and actor Abd Latif Ibrahim, 61, died of a heart ailment today.

The singer, who was popular in the 1970s, breathed his last at 5.57pm at the Coronary Care Unit of the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur, surrounded by close family members.

His son, Hazriq, said his father would be laid to rest at AU3 Muslim cemetery in Keramat tomorrow.

Latif Ibrahim, who is also the brother of evergreen singer, Khadijah Ibrahim, was famous for his songs such as ‘ Nora ’, ‘ Mengharap Kasihmu ’ and ‘ Mengenang Dikau Kembali’ .

He has also starred in several films like ‘ Hapuslah Air Mata Mu ’ in 1976, ‘ Dendang Perantau ’ (1979), ‘ Sumber Ilhamku ’ (1979), ‘ Bintang Pujaan ’ (1981) and ‘ Senja Merah ’ (1982).
