Another cock-and-bull story from Mahathir

your say Kairos: The older Dr Mahathir Mohamad gets, the less credible he has become. That's because more and more of his misdeeds are emerging that exposes the gross sins that the ex-PM had committed during his tenure in office.

Blatant corruption, dictatorial high-handedness and unashamed cronyism was the order of the day during the Mahathir regime. He thinks that after retiring, he can get away with it.

Yes, he may never be prosecuted, but he can go to sleep every night knowing that millions of ordinary Malaysians are cursing him under their breath. No matter how rich you are, this is the worst kind of life to live.

Ferdtan: Mahathir said it was not him but the Agong (late Sultan Mahmud Iskandar of Johore) who wanted to remove the then Lord President Salleh Abas from his post.

To remove all doubt as to the authenticity of the claim - which is unfair to His Royal Highness who cannot defend himself - the Johor palace should take action to set the record straight by coming up with a statement after investigating the statement made by Mahathir.

We hope that the present sultan personally makes an attempt to clear the name of his father - lest history may paint a totally different picture of the then Agong if no clarifications are made.

Cintai Negara: I would say that from the way Mahathir answered all the allegations against him, he is basically showing his arrogance and contempt of the ordinary people.

Despite the numerous stories of corruption in the country, has anyone of significance been convicted? That is why the country needs a change.

Swipenter: It took Mahathir a long, long time to admit his own bloodline and heritage by hiding behind the constitution.

Why is he so insecure about this irrefutable fact? All his twisting, half truths, lies and distortions reflects his basic insecurity about himself and his ability.

He is good at putting up a brave and fearless front by attacking others, forged alliances by deceit and show no mercy to his detractors.

Now when he tries to defend his actions and deeds, there are so full of holes. It even seem childish and far from being a respected statesman.

Definitely, he has cleverly pull wool over our eyes (we were that gullible then). Now we know how we over rated him all these years.

Malaysian First: This is vintage Mahathir. It's his usual self to blame others except himself.

He has caused immeasurable damage to the country with his divide-and-rule policy, massive corruption, cronyism, mismanagement, abuse of power, playing the religious and racial cards to boost his position and power.

The independence of our institutions like the judiciary/MACC/police/AG had been seriously undermined during his authoritative rule.

The present Umno-BN regime is continuing doing exactly what he had started to stay in power, no matter what and at all cost.

Umno and Mahathir are protecting each other for all the crimes committed against the people and country. There is no place anymore for them under the Malaysian sun.

Anoymous: The day will come when Mahathir will need to answer to the man up there. It's useless to argue with him as he must be senile by now or pretend to be.

I think there should be a RCI (royal commission of inquiry) to probe his administration. You bet he will sure come out with more excuses as he seems to blame everyone but himself.

When will he come to his senses that he is not perfect and do make mistake? I think he thinks he is next to god as he can do no wrong.

Pemerhati: Mahathir has been caught lying many times in the past and he has documented some of his lies in his book, ‘A Doctor in the House'.

Barry Wain who reviewed his book said, "The harsh conclusion must be that sections of the book can best be described as faction - a word derived from ‘fact' and ‘fiction'."

Mahathir's book, which is a mixture of facts and lies, reveals his true character and personality, which is that he will pepper the facts that put him in bad light with blatant lies so as to look good in the public eye.

Most of the other BN leaders and their lackey public servants also follow the same strategy.
