Penang police have already taken statements from 48 witnesses to complete the investigation into the chaos that occurred during the Himpunan Hijau 2.0 rally in Padang Kota Lama in George Town on Feb 26, which resulted in two journalists being injured.

Penang police chief Ayub Yaakob said police had opened two investigation files under Section 507 of the Penal Code for threat offences as well as Section 143 and 147 of the Penal Code for rioting and illegal assembly.
“Both files were handed over to the prosecutors today for further action,” he told reporters in George Town today.
Ayub said police had received 31 reports from the public and had analysed 20 video recordings on the assembly incident.
In the incident, a journalist and photographer of the Chinese press, Adam Chew, 29, and Lee Hong Chun, 25, were injured.
The assembly drew nearly 1,000 was to protest to the construction of a rare earth processing plant in Gebeng, Pahang.
