Despite denials from police personnel, four eyewitnesses claimed that Lim Hup Hwang, the 14-year-old motorcyclist who suffered severe injuries at a police roadblock in Tangkak, fell down because his motorcycle was kicked by a policeman.

NONE According to Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Daily , Lim’s family, accompanied by Ledang MCA Youth chief Toh Kian Hwa, called a press conference yesterday to reveal the police reports made by four eyewitnesses on the incident which happened over the weekend.

The four eyewitnesses were also present at the press conference.

Toh said the four police reports revealed that Lim, who rode a motorcycle without a helmet, was not speeding when he passed the police roadblock at Taman Tangkak Jaya, Ledang.

“Eyewitnesses saw the policeman kick the rear of his motorcycle, causing him to fall down and sustain injuries. At that moment, an auxiliary policeman, probably about to leave the scene, crashed into Lim’s motorcycle,” he was quoted as saying.

NONE According to Toh, a female eyewitness claimed she heard a policewoman asking the policeman (left) why he had kicked Lim’s motorcycle.

All four reports have been submitted to a legal team to follow up the police investigation on the incident.

Earlier, police said that they have received two reports from police personnel which claimed that Lim fell and injured himself after his motorcycle ran into another motorcycle ridden by a Rela member, who also suffered minor injuries.

Toh called on Johor police to suspend the policeman in question - who is still performing his duties as usual - pending investigation.

He also strongly condemned the police action of recording a statement from Lim when he had just recovered from a coma and without the presence of a lawyer and his family members.
