Why does Shahrizat appear untouchable?

YOURSAY 'How could an Umno minister at the fringe of power have so much influence to do so much damage?'

More properties in Bangsar bought by NFC directors

your say Don't Just Talk: Another eight properties purchased by Mohamad Salleh Ismail and his family in KL Eco City for over RM9.69 million, allegedly using the RM250 million given to NFC (National Feedlot Corporation).

Don't tell us that Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil does not know anything about it or is she just playing dumb? Without any collateral and experience in cow breeding, her family can get a soft loan of RM250 million from the government.

What do you expect, when individuals with no business experience are given such huge sum of money?

First, the company chairman bought a 350SL Mercedes Benz, followed by huge salaries for his children, followed by the purchase of two private condos in Bangsar for RM14 million, three private condos in Orchard Road and Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, for RM34 million and now eight shoplots at KL Eco City for RM10 million.

What about the cattle-breeding project? Will it ‘bungkus' (close shop) at a later date with the Umno government writing off the RM250 million, just like the MAS-Tajuddin Ramli out-of-court settlement?

Abasir: After more than five decades of occupancy, with the smooth-talking tenants doing what they like, the time has come to clean the house.

The ungrateful, swindling tenants must be evicted and structural changes must commence to ensure that this never happens again.

This exposure is just the start to wake up the hitherto sleeping, ignorant owners who must also bear responsibility for allowing this in the first place.

Onyourtoes: This is where I don't quite understand. How could an Umno minister at the fringe of power have so much influence to do so much damage?

Why so far the abuse of power and public fund was only confined to this particular minister and NFC? Are there no other ministers doing monkey business or we simply have no means of finding out?

Wfworker: In life, funny things can happen and will happen. The 13GE is just round the corner and here BN leadership is being caught and exposed, and yet it could not decide what to do.

Is it just waiting for more exposure to be made by PKR?

Fairgo: This is what a democratic political system is all about - a strong effective opposition party which will check the wrongdoing of the government.

All these years, Malaysians were told to shut up and accept whatever that was fed to them by the government.

PKR chief of strategy Rafizi Ramli, all Malaysians should be proud of you for what you are doing is for king and country. Keep biting, never let go till you get the results.

Judging by your lifestyle and character as reported in the media, the BN has a real problem.

Wira: Every time the BN government moots a project, there are cronies and rent-seekers involved.

No wonder, they are so interested to getting the project to fruition. RM75 million worth of SP Setia shares to YGP Holdings, which contains some directors we all recognise.

Is it legal to use a company FD (fixed deposit) as collateral to borrow money to fund a personal purchase?

Weren't we told earlier that properties were registered under the names of the directors? When the condos make money, to whose account will those profit go - NFC or own pockets?

Baffled: When I was in school many decades ago, someone defined ‘audacity' as the man shitting on your doorstep and then knocking on your door for toilet paper.

I don't know why, but it seems the audacity of people who steal from the public is much worse.

Did you hear someone say that the Companies Act gives the company unlimited power to do whatever it wants?

That may be right, partially at least, but perhaps those who know so much about company laws failed to understand that theft, or any other illegal act, gets no protection from the law.

Shahrizat: I have nothing to do with it

Anonymous_3f4a: The concepts of 'conflict of interest' and 'public accountability' are not something that's well appreciated by Umno politicians.

In the NFC scandal, the lack of such understanding by the minister is clearly evident. That's the effect of decade-long Umno's 'crony capitalism', blurring the vision of their being in politics and rendering irrelevance the Umno's struggle.

Chill: Shahrizat's one and only ammunition is the PM. No wonder she hides behind him and does not budge.

She shows her claws to all, trying to scare them that she will pursue legal action. But once BN is ousted, she will have no where to hide.

Changeagent: Of course, Shahrizat has nothing to do with it.

It is just mere coincidence that the KL Eco City project is being built in her former constituency of Lembah Pantai, pure coincidence that she is related to all the NFC directors, and absolute coincidence that her family are also purchasing eight property units there.
