The PAS-led Kelantan government will go ahead on its proposal to build a new stadium although the Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) has planned a RM300 million stadium in Bandar Baharu Tunjong, Kota Bharu.

State human development, youth, sports and NGOs committee chairperson Abdul Fatah Mahmood said the decision by Kafa did not affect the original proposal by the state to build its own stadium.

"The more stadiums the better for the government's efforts to develop football in the state," he told reporters in Kota Bharu today.

Previously, chairperson of Kelantan economic planning, finance and welfare committee Husam Musa had announced that the state government would build its own stadium through the privatisation of an integrated project in Bukit Merbau, Pasir Puteh.
