The Pahang government has agreed to increase the monthly allowance RM70 per month given to 4,000 persons with disabilities (OKU) to RM300.

Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob said with the assistance could help them cope with the higher cost of living.

He told this to reporters after opening Pahang's OKU Day celebration, which was attended by more than 2,000 OKUs at Tun Abdul Razak Hall in Temerloh today.

Adnan said the new payment was expected to be made in April or May together with the arrears, which would be calculated from January.

He said, however, the payments would only be given to OKUs who were really not able to do any job.
