Maintenance work on water treatment plant on schedule

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) corporate communications and public affairs executive director Abdul Halem Mat Som today said Syabas also monitored the water levels at 15 ponds supplying water to five areas facing water disruptions due to the maintenance work.
Following the maintenance work, the water supply to 153 areas in Hulu Selangor, Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Shah Alam and Kuala Langat would be disrupted for 36 hours from 8am today until 8pm tomorrow, he said in a statement.
Abdul Halem said Syabas received only nine complaints about lack of water, one complaint about low water pressure and four requests for water tankers as of 11.30am today.
He also said Syabas had provided 42 water tankers, and 192 static tanks which were placed at strategic spots to supply water during emergencies.
He said those needing water supply via tanker lorries or wanted further information on the unscheduled water disruption could contact the Customer Service Centre at toll free line, 1-800-88- 5252.
