Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) expects water supply in several areas in the Klang Valley following maintenance work at the first phase of the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant (LRA), to be fully restored by 8pm tonight.
Syabas corporate communications and public affairs executive director Abdul Halem Mat Som said even though all pumps at the LRA had begun operating and water supply had started to be channelled into the main ponds since 8pm last night, supply to several areas in Klang such as Kampung Delik, Sungai Udang, Kampung Sungai Bertik, Jalan Yadi and Kampung Idaman had yet to be restored completely.
“This morning, all Syabas’ main ponds had stabilised and most of the affected areas have started receving regular water supply,” he said in a statement.
Two days ago, 153 areas in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat experienced water supply disruption following the maintenance works.
He said those who needed water supply through lorry tankers could contact the Syabas’ Customer Service Centre (Puspel) at toll free line 1-800-88-5252.
