Up to four more people, including a top management official of the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC), are likely to be charged in connection with the scandal involving a RM250 million government soft loan.

According to the New Straits Times , "two to three" government appointees on the NFC board of directors could be charged with negligence under Section 132 of the Companies Act 1965.

Citing anonymous sources, the English-language daily also reported that a "top management official" of the NFC could also be hauled up for criminal breach of trust (CBT).

He is reported to be investigated for allowing company funds to be channeled into private companies unrelated to NFC, but owned by NFC's directors.

When asked, Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail told the daily that the case is "far from over".

Salleh probed for graft

NFC chairperson Mohamad Salleh Ismail, who was on Monday charged with two counts of CBT and two counts of contravening the Companies Act, is also reported to be under investigation for corruption .

NONE The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is also investigating Shamsubahrin Ismail, who was previously charged with cheating Mohamad Salleh (right in photo) while acting as a consultant for the latter.

NFC is run by Mohamad Salleh, the husband of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, along with their three children. The government has a golden share in NFC.

Shahrizat's family also runs several NFC associate companies, in which the government has no stake, including the National Meat and Livestock Corporation.

Mohamad Salleh was charged with transferring NFC funds totalling RM49.76 million to the National Meat and Livestock Corporation, which went for several expenses, including the purchase of two luxury condominium units.
