UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will arrive in Indonesia next week in the first stop of four Asian nations for official talks with government leaders, the UN said yesterday.

ban kimoon ban ki moon un secretary general 161006 Ban will leave New York on Sunday and meet in Jakarta with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih.

UN spokesperson Martin Nesirky said Ban will attend the Jakarta International Defence Conference and another meeting where he will speak on UN peacekeeping missions.

In Kuala Lumpur, Ban will meet with the prime minister and foreign minister and attend World Tuberculosis Day events observed annually on March 24.

He will travel to Singapore for talks with government leaders before flying to South Korea to attend the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit.
