United Pasokmomogun KadazanDusun Organisation (Upko) today denied that its deputy president Wilfred Mojilip Bumburing had quit the party.
Its secretary-general Wilfred Madius Tangau said the speculation was not true as he was still the party’s deputy president and MP for Tuaran.
“He is currently in Kuala Lumpur for the Dewan Rakyat sitting. He did not leave the party as somebody has speculated,” he told Bernama when contacted in Kuala Lumpur today.
For the past weeks there had been speculation that Bumburing, who has been calling on the federal government to resolve the illegal immigrants problem in Sabah, had left the party to join non-governmental group Angkatan Amanah Merdeka which is headed by former finance minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
