MCA Beliawanis chief Tee Hooi Ling has blasted Pakatan Rakyat after its supporters verbally abused Penang MCA Wanita chief Tan Cheng Liang in a forum on Thursday.

"Considering that this debate was held just days after celebrating International Women’s Day, for Pakatan supporters to descend into jeering the Wanita MCA Penang chief is not only downright shameful, it shows that they have not reached the stage of maturity and will seek to use violence to ensure their point and goal are pushed across," she said in a statement today.

NONE At the Penang forum organised by local daily Kwong Wah Jit Poh, Pakatan supporters reportedly booed and called Tan ( right ) an " old hen " when she highlighted alleged sexist remarks by PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

Tee said this behaviour was in contrast to MCA's behaviour during a highly-anticipated debate between DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and MCA president Chua Soi Lek.

"MCA members never once interrupted when Guan Eng spoke. Even during the other sessions when DAP leaders presented, the MCA audience also respected their turn and right to deliver their positions. Unfortunately, the same decorum was not accorded to Tan."

‘Pakatan will subjugate women’

Tee adds that Pakatan has made a mockery of democracy by abusing the freedom of expression to intimidate their opponents.

kak tunda mca jessie ooi "Perhaps indirectly, Pakatan supporters are already giving hints as to how harsh daily life will be like for women if PAS-dominated Pakatan ever takes power and establishes its dream draconian state governed by PAS hudud law.

"We have seen how women are emotionally and physically subjugated under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan and other Islamic states or tribal communities observing hardline hudud law.

"The scenario of shouting down, intimidating women by using fear tactics looks set to be replicated in Malaysia, should Pakatan ever wrestle Putrajaya," she said.

On Tuesday, two Pakatan excos in Kedah had reportedly verbally abused MCA's women, family and community development deputy minister Heng Seai Kie.
