Fast, furious...and fiery.

A Ferrari, which was part of a luxury car convoy, burst into flames at the 28.2km Kajang-Seremban Highway (Lekas) near Mantin, Seremban this morning.

Fortunately, its driver, a man in his 50s, escaped unhurt before the vehicle was completely engulfed by flames at 10.13am.

It is believed he was part of the convoy heading to Seremban when he stopped his car on the emergency lane after discovering it had caught fire.

A team of five firemen in an engine from the Mantin Fire and Rescue Department were deployed to put out the blaze after they received a call pertaining to the car on fire.

Operations chief Jayagaren Jaganatha Thevar said, when the firemen arrived at the scene, eight minutes after the call, the flames had destroyed the Ferrari.

He said, 90 percent of the car frame was destroyed by the blaze, adding that the team put out the fire within minutes.
