The voting woes continues! In Melaka, the ballot papers for two separate constituencies were swapped, leaving voters momentarily stumped.

The polling stations affected were SRJK(C) Pay Fong 1 - for the Kota Laksamana state seat - and SK Bukit Beruang - for the Ayer Keroh parliamentary seat.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Kota Laksamana Lim Eng Teck said the mistake was realised at about 10am after a voter told him that the ballot papers contained the names of the Ayer Keroh candidates.

"I later informed the state election office and all the candidates were called for a discussion," he added in a Bernama report.

Those who attended were his opponent from DAP Betty Chew ( left ) as well as the Ayer Keroh candidates BN's Seah Kwi Tong and DAP's Sim Tong Him ( right ).

Based on the fact that the two constituencies will see a straight fight between BN and DAP, the candidates agreed to tally the votes according to party symbols.

At the time the error was discovered, 30 votes had been cast at SRJK(C) Pay Fong and 50 at SK Bukit Beruang.
