Opposition Keadilan vice-president Tian Chua has objected to the extension of polling hours in Selangor this evening, saying that the additional time will allow the Barisan Nasional "to make up for lost votes" following electoral lists chaos in several polling areas today.

"Once time is up, polling should close. The Election Commission cannot extend voting time without the knowledge of voters. This is foul play. Umno is the only party with the machinery to get their voters to come out now," he said.

He said although low voter turnout was reported in several constituencies, the opposition was confident of scoring well despite discrepancies over voting lists.

"Only our hardcore supporters would have persisted in staying on and casting their votes despite the mess. This would have been disadvantageous to BN. They are worried about it," he added.

The Keadilan leader also called for the resignation of EC chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman over today's polling pandemonium which has resulted a fresh polls being called for in at least one constituency.
