Kedah PAS Youth wants to see deputy state commissioners Phahrolrazi Zawawi and Ismail Salleh out of the party state leadership, according to a source who is a senior state youth leader.

The source who declined to be named added that the youth wing was acting on its own accord, and not on account of an external “mastermind”.

NONE Yesterday, Phahrolrazi claimed that a third party was instigating the Young wing to push for the duo’s removal.

“The Youth wing is not stupid. No one is telling us what to do. Do they think we don’t know what they  (Phahrolrazi and Ismail, above, left and right respectively ) are doing?”

“From early on the Youth wing has suggested the two deputy state commissioners be dropped. This is the wing’s stand.

“We are not so stupid or shameful as to be used by others,” said the senior state youth leader.

“And all of a sudden there is now talk of a mastermind instigating us. This mastermind must be powerful to be able to instigate us,” the source told Malaysiakini yesterday.

Move to shape up Kedah

The senior youth leader added that the decision to drop the duo, who had been embroiled in a feud with Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak, was not just the state wing’s decision but the will of the grassroots as well.

The source stressed that the move was aimed at restructuring Kedah’s leadership to face the next general election, and not to target the duo specifically.

“We want to reshuffle the PAS Kedah leadership. We want those who qualify and have the capabilities to lead the party. We are not asking for the two to be sacked.”
