Malaysiakini commentators are in cold storage after a key server suffered a burnout yesterday.

The server - which runs the subscriber comments section - burned a hard disk.

NONE Unfortunately, the server did not have sufficient back-up in place. Malaysiakini 's technology team is hurrying to build and deploy a new server to run the comments section.

"We apologise for the temporary downtime of the comment section," Malaysiakini CEO Premesh Chandran ( right ) said.

"We know our readers love to have their say, especially in the current 'hot' political climate. We will do our best to get the service up as soon as possible."
