Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is expected to announce an enlarged cabinet tomorrow after his landslide poll victory, a senior party official said today.

The official said Abdullah, head of the ruling Barisan Nasional, had to enlarge the cabinet because the number of lawmakers has increased.

"Prime Minister Abdullah will announce his cabinet on Saturday. There could be an additional two to four new ministries created," the official, who requested anonymity, told AFP today .

However, the proposal to create new cabinet posts drew accusations that Abdullahi, who won 198 of the 219 parliamentary seats in Sunday's election, is just making "jobs for the boys".

"I am alarmed that Prime Minister Abdullah proposes to increase the cabinet to 'give jobs for the boys (and girls)' on the BN," said DAP chairperson Lim Kit Siang.
