A man was injured when the toilet bowl he used at the Sri Rampai LRT transit station in Kuala Lumpur shattered due to exploding firecrackers this afternoon.

Muhd Sakereen Basri, 22, sustained injuries in the back and thighs caused by shards from the broken bowl in the incident at 1.15pm.

He was warded at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he was reported to be recuperating.

Sentul police chief ACP Zakaria Pagan said initial investigations had revealed that firecrackers were used in the incident.

He said the police were also trying to determine if there were signs of sabotage.

Meanwhile, Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad media affairs manager Azhar Ghazali said the company was cooperating with the police in the investigations.
