Residents in the districts of Machang, Pasir Puteh and some parts of Kota Baru will experience disruption of water supply for three days from Saturday.

Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) customer affairs executive Hazwan Hassan said the disruption is due to maintenance and installation of intake pumps at the Merbau Chondong water treatment plant.

The Machang areas include Bandar Machang; Pulai Chondong; Labok; Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Machang; Padang Selising; Bukit Tiu; Banggol Petai; Kweng Hitam; Pangkal Meleret; Wakaf Bata; Paloh Rawa and Kemuning.

The Pasir Puteh areas are Bukit Bidang; Taman Sentosa; Alor Hijau; Selising Jeram; Dalam Rhu; Semerak; Tok Bali; Tualang Tinggi; Tasik Pauh; Kedai Menanti; Bukit Jawa; Bukit Tanah; Kampung Jerus; Bukit Abal; Sri Aman; Taman Kobena; Kampung Lepah; Kampung Berangan; Banggol; Telipot; Tualang Tinggi; Tasik Pauh; Kedai Menanti; Bukit Jawa; Bukit Tanah and Kampung Jerus.

Hazwan said the only Kota Baru area affected is Kok Lanas and the surrounding villages.

“AKSB will carry out maintenance work and installation of intake pumps from 8am to 6pm at Merbau Chondong water treatment plant to improve service and water supply to consumers,” he said in a statement in Kota Baru today.

The water supply is expected to be restored in stages three days after the completion of work at Merbau Chondong water treatment plant.
