Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir today refuted baseless claims by certain quarters that under the Menteri Besar Incorporated, the menteri besar will get all projects approved by the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

“Those who lack understanding of the matter would easily believe the claims and think the worst of the menteri besar.

“MBI is also active in other states like Selangor and Kelantan, and Aminuddin Hashim who was Institut Darul Ridzuan’s chief executive has been appointed chief executive officer of Menteri Besar Incorporated.

“The corporation was set up about 40 years ago under a special enactment, just like the Perak State Development Corporation, State Secretary Incorporated and Perak Agriculture Development Corporation,” he explained.

Zambry said the state government reactivated Menteri Besar Incorporated early this year as an entity representing the government in business and matters related to the interests of the state.

“At the last state assembly sitting, we had informed that we would formally reactivate Menteri Besar Incorporated's operations starting early this year,” he added.
