There have been 12 cases of pig heads found at mosques and surau nationwide since 2008, said the Home Ministry, adding that only one case has been resolved so far.

NONE In the report lodged in Kulai, Johor, one person was charged under Section 298A of Penal Code and fined RM2,000 on Dec 16, last year,  Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussien ( right ) said in a written reply in Parliament to Azmi Khalid (BN-Padang Besar).

“The accused was sentenced to serve two months in prison because he had failed to pay the fine,” said the minister.

The remaining 11 cases were investigated under Section 295 of the Penal Code for defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion.

While four cases are still are under police probe, six investigation papers have been listed under ‘no further action’ by the respective state prosecution department heads.

The minister’s reply, however, did not specify the status of the remaining case.

The pig head incidents were predominant in 2010 during the controversy surrounding the usage of the word ‘Allah’ in Malay-language bibles, in which both mosques and churches were vandalised.

The most serious incident was when the Metro Tabernacle Church in Kuala Lumpur was set on fire, leaving its entire ground floor gutted.
