The police have completed investigations into an alleged attack on Deputy Education Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong during a Chinese education gathering in Kajang last Sunday.

Selangor police chief Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said the police had interviewed 25 witnesses, following four reports lodged over the incident.

“We have recorded their statements and at the moment, no arrest or seizure has been made,” he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.

The investigation paper would be referred to the deputy public prosecutor on Monday.

A day after the incident, Wee said in a statement that he had forgiven the ‘attacker’ and urged the public not to politicise the issue.

News portals reported that Wee was allegedly chased out of the rally organised by the United Chinese School Committees Association (Dong Zong), which protested over the lack of Chinese school teachers.
