Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom today sought an apology from PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin over a remark the latter had made on television.

He warned of legal action unless Shamsul Iskandar apologises and withdraws within two weeks the remark that he (Jamil Khir) had stopped the sodomy case of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim from being taken to the Syariah Court.  

Shamsul Iskandar had made the remark on the ‘Bicara Rakyat’ live programme over TV1 yesterday, he said, adding that he regarded it as slanderous.

Jamil Khir spoke to reporters after opening the annual general meeting of the Pertubuhan Pergendangan Silat of the Yan district.

He also said that Shamsul Iskandar's remark also undermined the credibility of the Syariah Court.
