As such, the police have no reason to stop the woman to check for whatever reason. Less so to pin her down and ask for her urine in the most improper manner, and even less so to grope her breasts.

Tired: Here come another episode where the DAP is trying to instigate the people (read: Chinese) to hate the police.

Notice there is a pattern by DAP to demonise and malign the police. Granted, there are black sheep in the force but why the need to highlight and sensationalise their antics but never, not even for once, praise the police for the many good things that they have done.

6LAD1MR4C15T: 5am-6am just to bank in cash? Of course, the police will suspect. One can bank in cash at anytime in the morning, but why the insistence to do that early in the morning?

She could have easily been someone who might be working with some ATM-busting syndicate, or had to bank in a huge amount of cash with doubtful origin, thus the need to do that in the wee hours of the morning.

Call me a BN supporter or whatever you want to, but if I were the policemen who were patrolling then, I would be very suspicious when I see someone at the ATM (automatic teller machine) at 6am.

Teresa Kok: I was with Madam Lim Hui Hui, the complainant, at the media conference this morning. Lim had wanted to withdraw another RM5,000 from ATM at Maybank that morning. At that time she had RM20,000 cash in the car, she wanted to pay RM25,000 cash to a company that day.

The reason she did it in early morning was because her children were sleeping at that time, and that was the best time she did her banking.

Southpaw: Here we're talking about the abuse of power by the police, not what's the best way or best time to do banking. I can use whatever means to do banking at whatever time I see fit and no one should judge that.

So, let's try not to divert the attention to other non-issues. From other news sources, it was reported that her husband was away in Penang so she had to do the banking alone.

Malaysiasakit: I wonder how a woman doing banking transaction at an ATM of a bank branch at 6am be seen as a suspicious character. Most business people, especially in retail and entertainment, pay their suppliers and money lenders cash as they do not accept cheques for obvious reasons.

The police should understand that people need to do banking outside business hours. This is not an isolated case and we the rakyat find it increasingly difficult to trust the police.

Far too many things have gone wrong in PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police), especially with the ex-IGP (ex-police chief) allegedly having a cozy relationship with the underworld.

WeCANLive: The police again are too high-handed and lack interpersonal skills. They tend to stereotype people and perhaps concluded that this Chinese women could be a bar hostess or perhaps a prostitute.

Even if this woman is a prostitute, there is no reason to treat her this way. I am sure this policewoman and her colleagues have done these many times previously, perhaps to the ladies of the night.

This time they encountered an intelligent individual who refused to remain quiet.

Anonymous: In Thailand and Vietnam, you can see ATMs in front of shops, eating places and just simply along roads without CCTVs, enclosures or security guards, with people withdrawing money from them at any hour of the day or night.

The first time I saw this, I was so amazed that I took many pictures of them to show friends back home. This says a lot about the security situation between their country and ours.

Over there, people are not worried about being robbed by crooks. Over here, we have to worried about not just the crooks but the police too. How did we allow our Malaysia to be like this?

Anomnim: "If we have to suspend police officers every time there is a complaint, we will then have no officers on duty," said Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Aida Abdul Hamid.

So you admit that the complaints are so bad that if any action is taken, you will have no officers on duty?

And what action has the force taken to correct this? None.

Anonymous: It is unbelievable police behaving in such a manner. They should be sacked immediately. Better to have a few good ones than to have plenty.

Up2U: This allegation needs immediate attention and investigation and if the police officers are found to have misused their authority, firm action must be taken against them in order not to tarnish the good name of the force.

Jimmy Ng: Do our police even have an Internal Affairs Department (albeit an independent and incorruptible one, to begin with) to seriously and thoroughly investigate allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct by their own staff members since this involves the integrity, reputation and public perception of the force?

Judging from the numerous complaints and reports launched (plus non or feeble action from the authorities concerned), there is little surprise that the general public's perception of the police in our country gets poorer and poorer as time goes by.

How can any of them even hold their head high when donning the uniform? They are a total embarrassment to the country. And yet some still dare to talk of achieving developed nation status by 2020?

Is it any wonder why the general public has lost trust and confidence in the force? Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein must issue a statement without delay to clear the matter and action taken against the culprits before further erosion of public trust and confidence in the police take place.

Kgen: Of course, no action will be taken against the police. This is the essence of a police state where the police and corrupt politicians hold each other in mutual respect and mutual fear.

Neither one can survive without the other so they cover for each other. If you still want to vote BN just pray that one day you or your family will not fall victim to abuse by the police.

Anonymous: The BFM radio station had a talk show recently with veteran DJ Patrick Teoh where listeners were asked to rate the PDRM on a scale of 1 ("poor") to 10 (excellent").

The first caller rated it 0.5! I agree.
