It's brave of MACC's Shukri to spill the beans
Nazri tells 'weak' Shukri to stop complaining
Joker:
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz is demanding Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy commissioner (operations) Mohd Shukri Abdull to stop making statements?
Why is Nazri defending the attorney-general and attacking the MACC? Both are supposed to be independent. Well, if Shukri is weak, then the AG is most definitely lame if he requires Nazri to defend him.
Disgusted: This is again a classic example of interference by the executive in the affairs of the MACC.
The attorney-general has been cited for corruption and breach of ethics umpteenth times and no one has dared act on him. How powerful can the AG be?
Lim Chong Leong: Nazri explained that corruption charges would cause great shame to the accused and therefore the AG's Chambers must act diligently, and charge the accused in court only if there is concrete evidence.
Just like they did to ex-CCID (Commercial Crimes Investigation Department) chief Ramli Yusuff and his group of police officers. And since Shukri is such a weak character, why is he still a MACC deputy?
Ksn: One man from the MACC made a simple statement about the AG not prosecuting cases MACC had investigated, and Nazri is already panicking and reprimanding Shukri. Shukri should, on his part, ask Nazri to go and fly kites as MACC is not under him.
Is Nazri protecting the AG because the AG is under his portfolio, or is it because of other reasons?
MACC should take this as a challenge, and reveal all the cases referred to the AG and not prosecuted.
Kairos: It is absolutely amazing how Nazri has the arrogance and audacity to label Shukri as 'weak'. In fact, Shukri has demonstrated tremendous strength of character in spilling the beans about MACC cases that have not been prosecuted by the AG's Chambers.
Shukri is the strong one. Nazri is not only weak but clearly, he is trying to use his political clout to silence the truth. The discerning rakyat can see through this. The rakyat will no longer be fooled.
True justice will be done at the next GE. Nazri will be replaced and brave people like Shukri will have the last laugh. We, the rakyat, will see to it that inept politicians will not be allowed to call the shots any more.
Anonymous #18452573: When the government is a questionable government where corruption is rampant and the trading of favours and protectionism are prevalent, Nazri should know better than to use common law explanations to justify the inaction of the AG.
Most people consider Nazri of weak character and low resolve. He is only where he is because he conforms to the required low character and standards needed by his corrupt and questionable Umno-BN.
Anonymous_3e21: The ‘weak' one is actually you, Nazri. I have been following your development from your early days and the only thing outstanding about you is your apple-polishing capabilities.
Your sheer arrogance is unimaginable, as you think you are so high up there, as well as being above the law since you call yourself law minister. Or should we rather say ‘lawless' minister.
James Dean: Shukri is speaking out of frustration at how the government is being run. He is a 27-year professional corruption-buster, whereas the AG is a political appointee who is installed as a gatekeeper for the corrupt BN government.
James1067: The truth hurts. Nazri, how long do you want to go on with this charade? The people today are in the know and not stupid as you expect of them.
Sweeping the criminal wrongdoing under the carpet has been going on for far too long and the stench is seeping out. Even the civil servants are tired of playing ball.
Nyampah: Nazri is the most useless lawless minister in the world. He doesn't dispense justice, he suppresses it and twists it to create injustice. Instead of addressing the issue, he blamed the guy who talks about it.
Anonymous_VV: Shukri, please let us know what cases have not been prosecuted so that we know who they are. At least now we are seeing some civil servants speaking out against BN injustice.
Armageddon: Nazri, I believe Shukri is frustrated because all his efforts in investigating corruption cases get wasted by AG's decision not to charge.
Why don't you (Nazri) just give Shukri a guideline comprising the list of names that are untouchable by the law, so that Shukri will not waste his time investigating. Then maybe he will complain less. That way everybody is happy, except for the rakyat of course.
Anonymous #07443216 : Shukri, if I were you I would immediately order MACC's investigating officers to carry out a full investigation into Nazri Aziz' assets to see if his income can support his and his son's lavish lifestyle, then let's see if this loud-mouthed shameless de facto law minister will bark anymore.
Amused Malaysian: Nazri is right, Shukri should stop complaining, it's a waste of time. Why would the AG take action against his cronies, especially as they are adamantly refusing to order an investigation into his own alleged role in various scandals?
Anonymous: The AG's Chambers did not prosecute Nazri's son for allegedly assaulting a security guard. Now it is Nazri's turn to return the favour.
That's how it works in Malaysia. You scratch my back and I scratch yours.
