'Focus on pribumi, not Chinese voters'

your say Geronimo: Advising PM Najib Razak to "take good care of pribumi voters" sucks big time. Why didn't Umno veteran Abdullah Ahmad tell Najib to take care of the Chinese and the Christians right from the beginning and things would have gone well for the BN.

Instead they are now fire-fighting using the most foul means to win. In other words, there is now the admission implying that Umno never had, and never will have, the interests of the Chinese at heart, period. It is sad that the Chinese have been made use of all this time.

Faz: This is the new century but this Umno dinosaur of yesteryear still thinks like those in the 70s or earlier.

There is nothing new to learn from Dollah Kok Lanas (Abdullah Ahmad) as his words are mere rhetoric of the past and deeply entrenched in the Umno culture of race, religion and royalty.

There is no such thing as ‘Malaysian' in their dictionary. This spineless character is not worth mentioning in the same breath with veteran politicians Syed Husin Ali, Chan Heng Kai, Chan Kok Kit or Kassim Ahmad.

Bozo : Hello Abdullah Ahmad, just ask the question why the non-Malays ignore BN. BN never learns despite the 2008 political tsunami.

Give them another five years and they will still remain the same, or worse. What bumi or pribumi are you talking about? Are we not Malaysians? You are a racist playing the racial card.

So you see, fellow Chinese and the ignorant Indian folks who want to flock back to BN, they just don't care and are not bothered about the non-Malays.

This is enough to seal the fate of the so-called 1Malaysia propaganda which PM Najib Razak seeks to force down the throats of Malaysians. If BN has transformed, this would not be coming out of the mouth of an Umno veteran.

It is as clear as day, the Indians who seem so lost and confused, and are being courted by MIC again for some crumbs, should better think again.

The five-tower Hindu temple right in front of the UiTM headquarters in Shah Alam would not have been a reality if not for the change of government in Selangor.

The Chinese are ready for change, but the Indians as usual will find it difficult to leave the crab basket where they have been kept for so long.

Ksn: This is the man who coined the term ‘ketuanan Melayu' or Malay supremacy; how disgusting. Do the present, educated Malays accept and tolerate such idiotic, prehistory thinking and support such views? I shudder to think about it.

I do not even want to ask the Chinese what they think about this. Probably, MCA and Gerakan which claim to champion the Chinese cause and interests can explain this man's advice to Najib.

The only intention seems to be for Umno to cling on to power at any and all cost. Oh God.

SimpleSimon: So did you get the message, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP and the ‘dan lain lain' (the others) in BN? This old man is in essence saying, "You are a useless subordinate who will not deliver. We don't need your lot."

Jimmy Ng: I remember this ex-MP for Kok Lanas well for his racist views way back then. As they say, a leopard never changes its spots. His views confirm it - advising Najib to focus on pribumi to garner votes.

It just goes to show how much these kinds of people really care for the welfare of the rakyat. To them, it is all about how to retain power in the government, through any means possible. The rest is not important. Even the village idiot can see through this scam.

Anonymous #41809171: Dollah Kok Lanas has been out of favour with Najib for a long time and he is proffering this advice as an attempt to grovel back. However, Dollah has only made matters worse for Najib.

By saying that Najib can do little to sway the Chinese, he has joined the increasingly loud chorus of so-called Umno political pundits in confirming what the rest of us already know: Barisan has indeed lost the Chinese voters.

Ferdtan: The famous arrests of two 'Dollahs', along with A Samad Ismail in 1976, Abdullah Ahmad and Abdullah Majid (both deputy ministers in the PM's Department) were most shameful to say the least. Both came out on national TVs to 'confess' their crimes.

Most of us knew they were set up. By the mere fact they allowed themselves to be made fools of, to be humiliated in front of millions of Malaysians, showed their lack of conviction and courage to be leaders.

Other detainees of that period, like Kassim Ahmad, Chan Heng Kai and Tan Kok Kit and PKR's Syed Husin Ali had refused to cooperate with the authorities. That resulted in them staying longer in prison.

Abdullah Ahmad was no fighter - he talks well, but lacks the kind of courage and fortitude you would expect from a leader. He capitulates too easily.

That is his weak character. He later rejoined the administration and now he has the financial means to live well. So why should Najib take his advice when he couldn't even help himself back then in the 70s?
