Police are completing investigation into a report by a woman that she was molested and assaulted by a police officer at Sri

Petaling police station, Brickfields last month.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh said police are also investigating a report made by a police officer who was on duty during the incident.

"Investigation papers on both reports have been opened and the cases are investigated separately.

"We are wrapping up investigation of both cases before referring them to the attorney-general's office," he said in a statement last night.

NONE Malaysiakini.com news portal reported that businesswoman Lim Hui Hui (left) alleged that she was molested and assaulted by a police officer on March 24.

A police officer reported that he was on patrol in Kuchai Park on March 24 and spotted a suspicious car in front of Maybank Kuchai Park at about 6am.

Mohamad said the woman was arrested after she sped off to a nearby condominium when a police officer in full uniform tried to inspect the vehicle.

"The woman who was aggressive and cursing the police officer on duty was given police bail in the morning."

This case is being investigated under Section 186 of Penal Code for obstructing a civil servant from carrying out his duty.

Mohamad said the woman only lodged the police report five days after March 29 and the report was due to dissatisfaction over her arrest.
