The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) disciplinary committee slapped its deputy president Annuar Musa with a 30-month suspension from state or national level football activities.
FAM disciplinary committee chairperson Taufik Abdul Razak said the suspension, effective today, would also mean he would also be barred from taking part in any football activities in Kelantan where he is the president.
Taufik said the committee which met today found Annuar's

negative statement against the national football team on Feb 12 had breached the status of FAM's Article 88 (2010-2014).
FAM's Article 88 states that only the president and the secretary-general can comment on the national team's performance.
He said the decision was made after listening to Annuar defence as well as viewing video clips of Annuar's statement aired by a TV station.
"We studied the offence based on FAM's constitution under article 4.5.8 (I) and 4.5.8 (III).
"The committee unanimously found him (Annuar) guilty of the offence and handed him a 30-month suspension," he told reporters at Wisma FAM in Petaling Jaya after the committee meeting today.
He was also charged with not adhering to FAM deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah's

directive during an FAM executive meeting on Feb 4, that all matters related to FAM should not be aired through the media but through the proper channel.
Taufik said Annuar cannot appeal against the suspension since it was the minimum punishment meted out by the committee.
"We feel the suspension was justified since this was not the first time Annuar Musa was facing the committee," said Taufik but did not say why he had faced the committee in the past.
Annuar when met by reporters said he has been directed to not issue any statements to the press.
"I am sorry that I cannot make any statements because I will have to get a written approval from the FAM Congress which meets two or three times a year before doing so," said Annuar.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said about 150 police personnel were deployed to Wisma FAM where 200 Annuar Musa supporters had gathered since 1.30pm.
There were no untoward incidents from 1.30pm to 7pm, he said.
