Bersih shows how a voter can be 'cloned'

your say Anonymous_3f4a: Nothing should surprise anyone on the latest revelation of electoral fraud. After all, PM Najib Razak has once said that Umno would "defend Putrajaya at all cost" .

The Election Commission has been Umno's tools to retain political power for decades, it's not something new. It's only that the EC officials are getting more seasoned, and the methods used are more sophisticated.

Just look at the electoral maps of Sabah since independence to see how different it is today compared to the early years.

The demographic and the electoral profile of voters and constituencies in the state have changed beyond recognition over the decades through gerrymandering, the legalisation and registration of illegal immigrants as citizens and voters.

In danger of losing in the coming election, Umno is now bringing these tactics to the Peninsular. Sabahans have suffered from such 'political re-engineering' for decades.

Chill: No wonder the PM is not at all perturbed by Bersih's agitation because he is sure that BN will win the elections through these devious methods.

He fails to realise that the rakyat is no longer the downtrodden ignorant lot of the Mahathir Mohamad era, where the media was fully controlled. The people had no idea about the other side of the story. They believed whatever that was told to them.

Not anymore. Thanks to cyberspace, we can get information at our fingertips. Beware BN, it's not going to be easy this time.

DontPlayGod: Well, it looks like Umno is going all out to win big by hook or by crook, and it looks like it is mainly by crook.

I don't understand why we must have so many postal voters. And why must the spouse of these armed forces and police personnel be classified as postal voters too.

Why not just ask them to go back to their family homes to vote, just like millions of other Malaysian voters.

Anonymous #18459344: So that's why the post office ran out of voter registration forms when I dragged my friend there to register. All the forms have been used up for cloning.

James1067: This problem can be solved with indelible ink as they cannot vote twice, as long as the quality of ink is of high quality and not be easily washed.

The soldiers and the police should not be considered as postal voters as we are at peace and only those serving at the borders in the jungle can be considered as postal voters.

We can scream at the top of our voices, but is the EC ready for changes so that we can see a clean and transparent election?

The decision lies with those in power - are they willing to take the risk to face the people in all honesty and truth? We need more than just talk to make sure the changes are put in place.

Kgen: I have a feeling that EC will announce that indelible ink will not be used at the last minute. Otherwise, what's the point of all their cloning work?

Lin Wenquan: The inception of PSC (parliamentary select committee) was out of political expediency rather than a sincere desire to revamp EC.

The corrupt BN regime knows it will be ‘harakiri' (suicide) if the EC were to be cleansed because it would be tantamount to cutting its lifeline that has sustained its deceitful hold on power for so long.

God forbid the gravy train being derailed if free and fair elections are monitored by a squeaky clean EC and held in a free and fair environment. Enough is enough.

Khairudin Hassan: I have a feeling that all these 'cloned' voters are well-trained to vote in different places during the general elections.

They are mobilised in their own cars and may not know each other. They are asked to take an oath to secrecy. There will be no more buses.

I supposed they are young people who are well paid to do the job. So now, how to stop them?

Fear God Not Man: A thorough investigation must be done regarding these alleged ‘cloned' voters. Who are the people responsible and let them answer before the court.
