Restore the 10 Hindraf banners that were taken down by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) yesterday, Hindraf de facto leader P Uthayakumar urged Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim today.

He said the banners were removed by MPK officers at 11.30am yesterday.

The banners in question were promoting Hindraf's invitation to Pakatan leaders to attend a public meeting in Klang on April 22.

Saying that there were "hundreds of banners" not adhering to the MPK's regulations, he questioned why the Hindraf banners were removed but not the others.

Noting that many of the untouched banners were of Pakatan leaders, Uthayakumar said political motivation was behind the removal of the NGO's banners.

"This is exactly what the racist Umno has been doing to the Indian (Malaysian) poor... So where is the change?" Uthayakumar asked.

He also said the Selangor government was responsible, under the state's Freedom of Information Act, to reveal who gave the orders for the banners to be taken down.

In addition, he wants the state government to release the list of land titles granted to all Hindu temples, cemeteries and Tamil schools in Selangor.

This was because the state had yet to respond to Hindraf's previous letters requesting for the list of land titles issued, Uthayakumar added.
