Five Indonesian immigrants have been detained in connection with a break-in at a three-storey luxury house belonging to a member of the Selangor royalty last Friday.

The suspects, in their 30s, were picked up several hours after the incident at the house in Bukit Tunku.

The foreigners have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations.

“We do not rule out the possibility the break-in involved insiders,” Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh told reporters after a monthly gathering at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

In the April 6 incident, two men believed to be Indonesians and armed with daggers, broke into the house about 5.30am after forcing open a front window.

They herded four household staff into a room, tied and locked them up before ransacking the house.
