Singer DJ Dave’s former business partner has agreed to pay him RM133,000 over a dispute on the sale of a two-storey bungalow.
According to lawyer AS Dhaliwal who appeared for DJ Dave, the singer and Thomas Varkki reached a consent judgment on the matter before Sessions Court judge Azian Othman, in chambers today.
DJ Dave filed the suit in 2009, claiming the defendant had breached the terms of a settlement on the sale of the bungalow in Section 16, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Thomas claimed that the bungalow was a fixed asset under Mukim Angkasa Sdn Bhd, of which he and Thomas were directors.
He further stated that upon the request of the defendant they agreed to dispose of the bungalow and a settlement agreement was signed on Aug 24, 2005, in which DJ Dave was to be paid RM745,0000 from the proceeds of the sale.
He received RM415,077 of the amount but was owed a balance of RM179,923.
