Kuala Nerang state assemblyperson Syed Sobri Syed Hashim has directed his lawyer to file an injunction at the Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam High Courts to set aside the court decision which

declared him a bankrupt, today.  

He said he had provided all the essential documents and contacted all his creditors to request for time to pay back his debts and to settle several matters.

“God willing, we will obtain the outcome of the effort to set aside the bankruptcy declaration, issued in December last year from the Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam High Courts, in three to four days.

“I am positive the problem can be solved and I remain as an elected representative,” Syed Sobri told Bernama when met during a visit to victims of a storm, in Kuala Nerang town today.

He said he would submit the decision to set aside his bankruptcy status, after obtaining it, to the Kedah state assembly speaker so that he could attend the meeting on April 17. Syed Sobri announced that he was a bankrupt, as he was owing several banks and government agencies a sum of RM8 million, on April 3.
