Umno’s headquarters has received all the party’s candidate lists for the upcoming general election (GE), said Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

He said the lists were received in stages from the divisions before the stipulated deadline which was April 2.

“However, the names of candidates in the lists submitted to the leadership is not final,” he told a press conference after launching the Barisan Nasional’s (BN) election machinery for Tanjung Karang today.

Tengku Adnan, who is also BN secretary-general, said he had also asked the BN component parties to submit their their (candidate) lists.

Earlier in his speech, Tengku Adnan asked the BN machinery to deflect the baseless accusations thrown by the opposition against the government and to exercise caution with their attacks as this could influence the people.
