The Kelantan government will not entertain claims by more than 400 Orang Asli residents from Hulu Kelantan, who staged a peaceful demonstration last Sunday, claiming that the rally was planned by outsiders.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, instead, said the demonstration by the Orang Asli residents was merely based on jealousy with the success of the state government, which had implemented the demands as requested.
"This (demonstration) was done by Jaringan which is an outside organisation. These is all because of jealousy because the state government had resolved problems in Kelantan," he told reporters after launching the Ijtimak Al-Malak Kelantan 2012 Programme here today.
Last Sunday, more than 400 Orang Asli settlers from Hulu Kelantan held a peaceful demonstration in front of the entrance of the State Secretary's office here, to claim the promises made by the PAS-led Kelantan government related to their customary land.
Commenting further on the matter, Nik Abdul Aziz claimed that he knew the mastermind behind the demonstration but refused to reveal the individuals.
