Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) are expected to remove student protestors who are occupying a small corner of Dataran Merdeka tomorrow morning.
According to a report on the evening edition of Sin Chew Daily , a DBKL officer said instructions have been received to remove the occupiers before afternoon.
This is because a rehearsal for a royal concert, slated for April 21, will be held in the afternoon.
"Tomorrow morning, a final warning will be given. After that, we will remove the tents. We are forced to do so," said the officer, who was not named in the report.
The officer added that it is likely that the police would be roped in for the 'eviction' exercise.
A small group of students who are protesting against the National Higher Education Loan Fund (PTPTN) have been camping out at Dataran Merdeka for five days.
The students are campaigning for an abolition of PTPTN, claiming that it was unfair to saddle youths with debts.
DBKL, who manages the field, had made several attempts to forcibly remove the protestors and seized their tents.
