'Let April 28 be the new dawn in M'sia'

YOURSAY ‘Now is the time to set the expiry date for Umno-BN. April 28 will be a new dawn for our nation's political awakening.'

Umno member: Don't let BN pawn our country

your say Kairos: Certainly, April 28 will be a momentous day. It will prove to be the watershed in the history of this nation. Remember it was people's power that made the difference for Corazon Aquino in the Philippines.

That's what democracy is all about. It's not about the arrogant who think they can continue to abuse their power to further their own diabolical ends.

It's about justice and fairness and equality for all citizens of Malaysia, regardless of race or religion. It's about a fair and just election without any manipulation or intimidation. That's what we are rallying for. What is wrong with that?

Keturunan Malaysia: Thanks Tamrin Abdul Ghafar. Though much younger than your dad (former DPM Abdul Ghafar Baba), I had a couple of morning walks with him during those good old days.

Your dad would be very proud of you... never mind opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim who 'edged' your dad out for the No 2 of Umno in 1993.

You, him and people like me... we have walked a long, long distance and like all God-created humans, we erred and will continue to err.

Most important is, we are able to realise our mistakes and correct them and do our utmost best not to repeat them. Once again, thank you for your valuable support.

Pondering Why: Thanks to the Bersih movement, we have a united Malaysia like we had during the time of Malaysia's independence. The current administration can try its very best to split, cheat and abuse the nation to stay in power, but no matter what, people's power will prevail.

Ksn: Umno Baru is crumbling, is it not, or should I put that in the past tense? It is the Malays, pro-Umno Baru, who have to decide once and for all whether they should allow the abuses and malpractices to continue or to save the country from the traitors.

The choice is very clear for them. The majority of the Chinese and the Indians have made up their minds. Will the Malays too respond to save Malaysia?

AkuDahUbah: These instant citizens are allegedly given blue IC with an expiry date. It is now time to set the expiry date for Umno-BN. April 28 will be a new dawn in our nation's political awakening.

Anonymous #43051382: I received an email from a friend in Penang titled 'Angry Bird' whereby the message points towards support for Pakatan Rakyat.

A few weeks later, my friend from Sarawak sent me the same email. My Sarawakian friend did not even know my Penang friend. This shows the wind of change and the 'Malaysian Spring' is really going to happen at GE13.

Lim chong leong: Tamrin and former minister Kadir Sheikh Fadzir ain't no Mr Clean themselves. We should be careful who we mix with and who wants to mix with us.

Smartvoters: Fellow Malaysians who want a change of government from Umno-BN to Pakatan Rakyat in this coming general election should not question and reject those who now abandoning Umno-BN.

Accept them. Forgive them. We must unite to achieve victory for all Malaysians over Umno-BN to save our beloved country from them.

The fact that they have now repented and support our struggle is good. But we are not foolish or gullible. As they are new ‘members' of our movement for change, they must prove their sincerity by really campaigning and working with us. They will be judged by their actual action, not by their words.

We must always be aware of the danger of ‘Trojan horses' planted among us by our enemies. The selection of Pakatan candidates will have to be done very carefully based on their proven integrity, honesty, commitment and sacrifice, etc.

Lets Be fair: The natural and spiritual law will always prevail. In the ultimate climax before a crisis, this law manifest itself to save the people of Malaysia.

Hence Bersih 3.0 is one of the signs. Everything else will follow suit. That is the will of Allah - to prevent further plunder and deprive the citizens of their spiritual and financial benefits of what is due to them.

Swipenter: Are the Malays finally waking up from their 54-year-old dream of Umno fighting for and defending "agama, bangsa and negara?"

As long as the Malays continue to sleep with Umno, this country of ours will be unable to move forward to be a first world country.

The fate of the country is in the hands of the Malays and the Malays must be able to develop a thinking, critical and forward-looking mind to break out from their present mindset constrained by the notions of race and religion foisted upon them by Umno and to accept and embrace universal values like justice for all, fairness, equality and equal opportunities and meritocracy.

That said, this does not mean that the disadvantaged will be neglected. We must reinstate the original and noble aims of the New Economic Policy (NEP) and not bastardise the NEP to favour a few, turn it into a tool of discrimination, a weapon of the divide-and-rule strategy and massive corruption.

Louis: BN does not pawn the country. It sells the country!
