Another victim of a fatal road crash which claimed the lives of three people at the 198km North-South Expressway (southbound) near Ayer Keroh toll plaza yesterday, died at the Malacca Hospital today.

Yong Ah Eng, 57, one of the passengers of a Toyota Harrier, died at the hospital’s intensive care unit at 9.17am.

Alor Gajah police chief Supt Umar Ali Saifuddin Shaharudin told Bernama that the post-mortem revealed she succumbed to severe injuries in the neck.

The victim was an aunt to another Toyota Harrier’s passenger, Ng Beng Tian, 32, who was killed on the spot yesterday.

Also killed was Ng’s mother, Tan Bian, 61, and mechanic Muhammad Azizul Safian Rani, 28.

Umar Ali said Yong’s family would send her body to Simpang Renggam, Johor for burial.

The 3.05pm crash occurred when the Toyota Harrier, driven by Ng’s wife, Lim Ching Yeo, 32, crashed into a sky-lift lorry which had earlier broken down at the site.

Meanwhile, lorry driver Ishak Mohamad, 56, sustained a fractured left leg while Lim sustained slight injuries.
