PKA top management grilled by journalists
Observor:
Bravo to the journalists for asking the right questions to Port Klang Authority (PKA) chairperson Teh Kim Poh and grilling him. This is an effective way to question public officials.
They have had life too easy all this while. They need to be ‘hentamed 'and shamed so that they will take the trouble to know the basic facts of the organisation.
I hope this will send a strong message to other senior officials of government departments/agencies that they have a fiduciary duty to protect the taxpayers' money.
Anonyxyz: With due respect to the knowledgeable journalists, how can a chief executive officer (CEO) and his top management team know so little about the skills to run an organisation?
No wonder the country is going bankrupt with these MCA and Umno animals in charge. Either they are corrupted to the core or damn brainless.
Thundercat: Watching the video makes me sad with the abuse of our taxpayers' money and makes me laugh by looking at the faces of the chairperson and finance manager.
He spoke with no confidence, and that proved he didn't know what he was doing. A press conference that ended up with a journalist taking control of the conference.
Why? Because they were hiding the truth.
Headhunter: The Sun's R Nadeswaran, is the type of journalist the country need instead of all the current batch of dumb and blind so-called journalists who suck it up to those in power.
If there are more like Nadeswaran, crooked politicians would think twice before they rob the nation.
Gebeng plant tour turns out restricted, unrefined
Lim Chong Leong: It's a fake public relations exercise where they only show you half a deck of cards with the other half hidden up their sleeves.
Without showing anything, they are again just telling us, "Look, we are safe. Here are some cookies."
Lynn: Let us all imprint these whitewashed pictures (and hogwash from the government and Lynas Advanced Materials Plant or Lamp staff) into our brains because history often repeats itself and if so, in 10 years' time all that will be left are rusted structures and a sign on the sealed-off gate warning people to stay away because of unsafe radiation levels.
That is Lamp's future and all those politicians who had approved it and pocketed the money will all be overseas rolling in their millions.
Anonymous_5fb: What we see here is that Lynas is in fact learning fast from the Umno-controlled BN government. They imitate very well by putting up a sham tour.
Lynas: Only 0.1 fatal cancer cases per million caused
Wira: If background radiation causes 35 cases of cancer per million and Lynas' fatality rate from cancer is 0.1 case per million, does it mean the survivability of cancer in Malaysia is less than one death out of 350 cases?
Wow, this must be a Malaysia ‘boleh' world record, unless the Lynas managing director Mashal Ahmad is telling us that being zapped with rare earth radiation improves a person's vulnerability to death from cancer caused by background radiation.
Loyal Malaysian: I will leave it to the experts to let us know whether the health statistics bandied here by the Lynas personnel can be believed.
Lynas chose to set up the plant in Malaysia because of "cheaper water, electricity and chemicals...".
Give us the hard statistics! Convince the cynics among us that you are telling the truth by revealing the costs accounting involved.
And yes, by the way, please don't discount the 12-year tax holiday that Lynas is laughing to the bank with.
GovPayMaster: "Mashal said the company would bring RM2.5 billion in foreign direct investment, of which RM1.168 billion were for Malaysian contractors." Berapa masuk poket ?
Who actually benefitted from Lynas? Also, to use Malaysian land for a waste dump till eternity, how much will that cost?
Masing: Never bite the hand that feeds you
Justice Pao: Sarawak Land Development Minister James Masing, we, the voters, are your master not the other way round.
If BN has not cheated in the last election, you and all the bunch of rotten thieves will be rotting in jail now instead of talking nonsense and begging us for your life. We are the ones that feed you and you are the ungrateful one.
Democrat: Hey, you bit the hands that voted you in, and stole from the pockets that fed you and made you what you are today. Who is ungrateful? You are talking of old politics, change lah . Pray that you will be changed.
Al Tugauw: You speak the truth, Democrat. People like Masing forget the rakyat who voted for them and jump into bed with the towkays when they are in power so that by extension they become the towkays as well.
Ingrate Masing would do well to remember that towkays come and towkays go, but the rakyat remains. The rakyat doesn't pay his salary and allowance to be abused by him and his ilk.
Hmmmmmmmm: He is unclear on the concept on who is feeding who. He thinks that the money he is using comes from BN.
