“Datuk had soft tissue injury to the upper back and shoulder, she is very stable and very well except for the pain,” he told reporters after a visit by Chief Minister Musa Aman in Kota Kinabalu today.
In the 7.45am incident, Azizah’s driver Yousriesyah Hujin, 33, lost control of the vehicle and hit a road divider near the Airport View Hotel at Km6, Kepayan Road in Kota Kinabalu.
Yousriesyah is being warded at Hospital Queen Elizabeth 2 and in stable condition while the minister’s bodyguard Sairun Hamid, 51, whose left leg had to be amputated after being trapped in the vehicle, is also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Sairun’s wife, Norazlin Mohd Amin, who works for a private company in Kuala Lumpur, said she was informed of the news by her husband’s friend.
“We are awaiting the doctor’s decision on my husband’s right leg which was also broken in the incident. So far his condition is okay and he is in good spirit. Everybody have been giving their support and praying for his well-being,” she said.
