Tunku Monsor Tunku Kassim is not the Tunku Laksamana of Kedah as stated in a Bernama report on ‘Tunku Laksamana Kedah lodges police report over enactment amendment’ on Sunday, according to a statement from the office of the Sultan of Kedah today.
The statement said the confusion could have come about because Tunku Kassim, the father of Tunku Monsor, had held the position of Tunku Laksamana of Kedah prior to his demise.
The position was not handed down and it is now held by Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani Sultan Badlishah, a member of the Kedah Council of Regency, who is the younger brother of the Sultan of Kedah and Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the statement said.
Bernama apologises for the confusion that might have arisen.
